Egg donation or IVF with donor eggs is a high-complexity assisted reproduction treatment in which eggs (oocytes) from an anonymous donor are fertilized with sperm from the partner or a donor , to create embryos that are subsequently transferred to the uterus of the recipient patient.
This technique offers a hopeful alternative for women who cannot conceive with their own eggs, whether due to age, low ovarian reserve, previous treatment failures, or genetic conditions.
Medications are used to stimulate the follicles in the donor’s ovaries with the aim of obtaining the largest number of eggs.
For this type of treatment, the recipient (the patient who will receive the embryos once they are created) must have endometrial preparation to receive the embryos in her body.
The eggs are collected using ultrasound-guided aspiration in the operating room; on this day, we require the patient (or their sample) to be in the clinic to capacitate (prepare) the sperm sample and fertilize the oocytes.

The oocytes are fertilized to create embryos in the laboratory: conventional IVF or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection).
The embryos can be transferred fresh, or in cases where the recipient cannot travel, is not ready for the transfer, or is undergoing preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), the embryos can be vitrified (frozen) for storage and later transfer.

At Advanced Fertility Center Cancún, we offer an extensive selection of carefully screened egg donors available for both fresh cycles and egg bank procedures.
